Julie M. Fidler has created Stuck in the '70s, a light-hearted look at 70s, complete with entries from her diaries from 1972 to the present.

"My site is a light-hearted look back at the things we loved about the '70s. Much of it is from the perspective of a teen-age girl -- me! How else could I look at it? There are many links to many things '70s, as well as pictures of other '70s stuff, and it is growing and growing rapidly!" Visit at www.stuckinthe70s.com or e-mail Julie at stuckinthe70s@yahoo.com

How did you get the idea for your site? What made you start this type of site?

A: I could not get rid of my stuff from the '70s: clothing, shoes, toys, magazines, records. I just couldn't bear to part with it. Some of it my ex-husband made me throw out, accusing me of being Stuck in the '70s. After I got rid of him, I thought, "What's wrong with being Stuck in the '70s? Those were some of the best times of my life." So, I powered up my disco stereo, complete with flashing lights, and  decided to use the site as an escape from the present.

How does your site celebrate the 1970s?

I use lingo, pictures and other things to make the nostalgia available to those who experienced the '70s and to the kids around now who seem to be so into it. I like to include visitors' comments and lots of feedback so we can learn how other celebrate the '70s.

What is unique about your site?

My site has at least a couple of things that no other site in the world could possibly have. Those are entries and clippings from my diary, which I kept from 1972 to the present, actually; and my collection of photos, autographs and other memorabilia.

What type of information do you offer readers of your site?

I offer a look at the decade through the eyes of someone who lived it  and loved it as well as a chance to get in touch with others who love the '70s. I get a lot of questions from people of all ages planning to throw '70s celebrations, and I enjoy answering their questions. I also post all the questions and answers on the site in the trivia section.

What aspect of your site are you most proud of?

The original design and idea, I guess. It's kind of a personal page because it is based on how I saw the '70s, but it isn't really about ME, per se. It's more about growing up in that decade. I'm proud to offer pictures and writings that would have embarrassed the crap out of me at the time! I hear from a lot of young girls who say I was just like them. That makes me proud, and it's refreshing.

What is the silliest, zaniest, craziest aspect of your site?

Gotta be that diary! I get more comments on it than anything else. I don't edit anything out, therefore I embarrass friends who are still my friends and my family who can't ignore me. The things that were so important to a young girl seem silly, zany and crazy now. I'm still hoping those old boyfriends will see it and write! :)

Why do you think nostalgia from the 1970s is growing in popularity?

I don't have a clue. My mom always said, "Give something 20 years, and it'll be back in style." Mom was always right!
