She just spent two
hours reading a book in the self-help section of the bookstore.
She didn't buy it. Instead, she'll see if the
library has it. She spends too much money on books, books on relationships,
business, love.
So little time, so much to understand.
She wishes she had more time to read everything
about everything, from the Internet and decorating to building a business
to making her relationship happier.
Affirmations to aerobics, she works hard inside
and out. She is learning to exercise - and yes - appreciate her body
more.
She loves English literature, great books and
psychology, but she lacks the time to pursue these
subjects.
She's had tough times. The 12-step program is
not just a dance to her. She's aired, examined and cleaned out many of the
skeletons in her family closet.
She has attended poetry readings, and believes
there are universal laws, like what comes around goes around.
Her motto: if life gives you lemons, throw them
away. Who needs lemons anyways?
More than she ever imagined, she loves the online
world.
She never met her new best friend, but they
e-mail each other each day and are so much alike at times, it is eerie.
Online, no one has any preconceived ideas about
who she is.
She can say what she thinks without fear of
having to live up to anyone's expectations.
It is a place where she feels attractive and
witty, even with her hair uncombed and bathrobe on.
She looks for practical information online that
can be used in her daily life.
She would like to change the world, but she
has to remember to first change the oil, the baby.
She keeps a juicer and a coffee maker on her
kitchen counter (French roast/celery/apples and
carrots).
Her favorite clothes: a white wedding dress
and black graduation gown.
She prays more than she used to, and believes
in a good, positive force in the universe.
She has been a fool for love, and even after
therapy and support groups, she admits she probably would be a fool
again.
Still, she's a sucker for old-fashioned romance.
Yellow roses, white lingerie, even a diamond engagement ring give her a thrill.
So does buying rental property, playing the
stock market, and earning big commissions.
She has seen some of her dreams die slow painful
deaths. Others held on life support long after it was time to pull the
plug.
Still, she is a dreamer. She would like to write
a book, open a restaurant, teach children to like themselves (she wish someone
taught her that).
Despite it all, she has seen some very unlikely
dreams come true. Her motto: some people live their life in quiet desperation.
I won't be some people.
She can be needy at times, but she doesn't mind
being needed.
Who is she?
She's the Commitment Women. |
